Selling trading cards in Portland: common questions
The short version: we buy outright, raw or graded, and we pay when we meet or when the package arrives.
Where can I sell Pokémon cards in Portland?
Right here. sabi is based in the Pearl District (1314 NW Irving St) and buys Pokémon, One Piece and other trading cards outright. Send photos through the form on this page, we reply with a cash offer, and if you’re in Portland we arrange a quick meet-up. No appointment, no waiting while someone sorts through a binder.
What cards do you buy?
Pokémon and One Piece first, then Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Lorcana and sports cards. Singles, lots, sealed product and whole collections are all welcome, raw or graded. We’re most interested in vintage and modern chase cards, graded cards from PSA, BGS and CGC, and sealed boxes, but bulk is fine too; just tell us roughly how much you have.
How much will you pay for my cards?
Typically 50–80% of what the card is selling for right now, paid in cash. We check recent sold prices for the exact card and grade, and where you land in that range depends on how in demand it is and how quickly it will move. You don’t need to name a price; if you have a number in mind, add it to the form and we’ll tell you honestly whether we can get there.
Do I need to grade my cards before selling?
No. We buy raw cards as they are. If you already have PSA, BGS or CGC slabs, pick the grader and grade in the form and include a photo of the label. If you’re unsure whether a card is worth grading, send it over anyway and we’ll say what we think.
Can I sell a whole collection or a bulk lot?
Yes. Photograph the best cards individually and the rest as a group, pick “a whole collection” or “a lot or bulk” in the form, and give us a rough count. We’ll make one combined offer. Anything we pass on stays yours.
Do you pay cash, or is this consignment?
We buy outright, so you’re paid once, in full. Cash is our preference for local sellers; we can also pay by Zelle, Venmo or Apple Pay, which is how we usually pay people who ship to us.
Do you buy from people outside Portland?
Yes, from anywhere in the United States. Accept the offer and we email a prepaid shipping label. Pack the cards in sleeves and toploaders or a sturdy box, drop it off, and we pay as soon as it arrives and checks out against the photos.
