Oregon outdoor life runs deep, and Snow Peak's North American flagship on NW 23rd presents the Japanese maker with that same care. Every detail, from the door handles in, shows how much thought goes into what they make.
Find it, and the rest of the city we keep returning to, on sabi's Portland list.
Arriving: the ice-pick handles
The front door opens with ice-pick handles. It is a small detail that sets the tone, a nod to the mountains Snow Peak began in.
The store
The store is light-filled, with tents, tables, and cookware set out the way they live outdoors, so you can see how each piece works with the rest.

Takibi
Takibi is Snow Peak's restaurant, built around the same campfire idea as the gear. Check snowpeak.com for where it is serving before you plan a meal around it.
The people
Our friends Sebastian and Malik are part of what makes a visit feel welcoming. The whole team knows the gear in depth and loves sharing it.

Before you go
The store is open daily from 11 am to 7 pm. Leashed dogs are welcome. If a Snow Peak layer is on your list, our Snow Peak Ribbed Knit Crewneck is in the shop now.
