Where to Sell Arc'teryx for Cash (Not Store Credit)
Arc'teryx has its own trade-in program, and it is the reason most people searching for where to sell Arc'teryx end up disappointed: ReBIRD pays 30 percent of the original retail price as an Arc'teryx gift card, not cash, and only for gear that passes its inspection. If you want money rather than credit toward another shell, you need a reseller. Sabi buys used Arc'teryx outright, quotes 30 to 65 percent of what your exact piece has recently sold for, and pays by Zelle or cash when we take it.
This page is specific to Arc'teryx and Veilance. For every brand we buy, see Sell us your clothes.
What we buy
- Gore-Tex shells: Alpha SV and AR, Beta AR, LT, and SL, Zeta SL, Sabre, Rush, and the discontinued Theta and Sidewinder.
- Insulation: Atom LT, AR, and Heavyweight, Cerium LT and SL, Thorium, Proton, Nuclei, and Kappa.
- Softshells and midlayers: Gamma LT and MX, Squamish, Kyanite, Delta, and Covert fleece.
- Veilance: the whole line, including Field, Monitor, Isogon, Achrom, Node, Align, and Voronoi.
- Packs: Arro 22, Mantis, Granville, Brize, and Alpha climbing packs.
- Condition: clean, dry, no delamination, working zippers and Velcro, inner product label intact.
Men's and women's. Older pieces and discontinued colorways are welcome; some of the most sought-after Arc'teryx is ten or fifteen years old.
What we pass on
- Delaminated or peeling Gore-Tex. If the membrane is bubbling or the seam tape is lifting, the jacket has reached the end of its useful life and there's no resale value to price against.
- Anything we can't authenticate. Arc'teryx is one of the most counterfeited outdoor brands. We check the bird logo embroidery, the interior labels and model number, the zipper pulls and hardware, the RECCO reflector where one should exist, and the construction. Replicas are a pass.
- Heavy wear: tears, burn holes, heavy pilling on fleece, permanent stains, odor, missing hoods or hood adjusters.
- Base layers, underwear, socks, and most accessories. Hats and gloves case by case.
How pricing works
We look at what your exact model, size, colorway, and condition has recently sold for, then offer 30 to 65 percent of that number in cash. Veilance, Alpha SV, discontinued colorways, and clean current-season shells land at the top of the range. Older Atom jackets with pilling land at the bottom or get a pass.
How that compares to ReBIRD, honestly:
- ReBIRD Trade-In pays 30 percent of the original retail price as a digital gift card, redeemable only at Arc'teryx. It requires the inner label, deducts shipping if you mail it in, only accepts footwear under two years old, and won't take headwear, gloves, harnesses, or LEAF. On the raw number, 30 percent of a full retail price can sometimes match or beat a cash offer on a piece that has depreciated a lot. The difference is that it isn't money. If you were going to buy another Arc'teryx piece anyway, ReBIRD is a fair deal. If you want cash, it isn't a route at all.
- Buy-sell-trade chains typically pay around 25 to 35 percent of their resale price in cash, and their buyers usually can't tell an Alpha SV from an Atom LT, so technical pieces get priced as generic jackets.
- Marketplaces (Grailed, eBay, Geartrade) pay the most if you photograph, list, answer questions about pit-to-pit measurements, ship, and eat the fees. We wrote up what Grailed actually costs you if you want the math.
- Consignment can net more per piece and takes months to pay.
How to submit
- Send photos through the sell form. Front, back, the inner product label with the model number, the bird logo up close, both zipper pulls, and any flaws. Include the size. Use the form on the sell page.
- We reply within 24 to 48 hours with a cash offer, or a pass. If we pass, we'll tell you why.
- Hand it off. In Portland: drop it off locally by appointment. Anywhere else in the US: we email you a prepaid shipping label.
- Get paid in full once the piece is in hand and checked: Zelle or cash, or store credit if you'd rather shop.
Selling Arc'teryx in Portland
Sabi is based in Portland, Oregon. There's no storefront yet, so local sales happen by appointment: you drop the piece off and we check it on the spot. Outside Portland, we send a prepaid shipping label. Have a closet's worth? Send the whole list and we'll quote it together. Questions first? Contact us.
Frequently asked questions
Does Arc'teryx have a trade-in program?
Yes. ReBIRD Trade-In accepts eligible used gear in the US and Canada in exchange for a digital gift card worth 30 percent of the item's original retail price. It's credit toward Arc'teryx, not cash.
What is Arc'teryx ReBIRD?
Arc'teryx's umbrella program for repair, trade-in, resale, and upcycling. Trade-in is the part that takes your used gear; Resale is the part that sells it on at resale.arcteryx.com. The trade-in credit is what most people mean when they ask about it.
Where do you sell used Arc'teryx gear for cash?
To a reseller that buys outright, like Sabi, or on a marketplace like Grailed, eBay, or Geartrade if you're willing to list it yourself. Buy-sell-trade chains will take it but usually underprice technical pieces.
Is used Arc'teryx worth anything?
Often quite a lot. Gore-Tex shells, Veilance, and discontinued colorways hold value well because the pieces last for years and the brand rarely discounts. Depreciation is heaviest on insulated pieces with visible pilling and on anything with a delaminating membrane.
Do you buy Veilance?
Yes, and it's one of the categories we pay the most for. Veilance resale prices stay close to retail, so the cash offer is correspondingly high.
Do you buy Arc'teryx without the inner label?
We'll look, but a missing or cut label makes authentication harder and lowers the offer. ReBIRD won't take it at all.
What else do you buy?
Canada Goose, Stone Island, C.P. Company, nanamica, Snow Peak, and more. See the full buy list, or browse the archive.
