Shoes are the easiest designer item to sell and the easiest to get underpaid for. Easy because the market is deep: a Margiela Tabi or a pair of Rick Owens Geobaskets has a known price in every size. Underpaid because condition is judged more harshly on shoes than on anything else, and most buyers will use a scuffed heel to knock a third off the offer.
Here's where to sell designer shoes, what each route pays, and what condition actually matters. Sabi buys designer and collaboration footwear outright; here's the list.

Your options for selling designer shoes
- Outright buyers. Photos, offer, handoff, paid. Sabi pays 30 to 65 percent of recent sold prices, by Zelle or cash, with an answer inside 24 to 48 hours. Portland dropoff or a prepaid label. For Nike and Jordan specifically, see where to sell Jordans for cash.
- Sneaker marketplaces. StockX and GOAT for sneakers, new or lightly used. Highest ceiling, but fees, shipping, authentication holds, and a wait. We compare them in where to sell sneakers for cash.
- Fashion marketplaces. Grailed and eBay for designer footwear that isn't a sneaker: boots, loafers, derbies, Tabis, Geobaskets. You do the work and keep the most.
- Consignment. The RealReal and Vestiaire for luxury houses. Slower, percentage-based, and shoes get marked down faster than clothing when they don't move.
- Buy-sell-trade and pawn. Same day, lowest payout, and rarely any brand knowledge beyond Nike.
What makes a pair worth selling
Four things, in order: the model, the size, the condition, and the box.
- Model. Signature silhouettes hold value: Margiela Tabi and GAT, Rick Owens Geobasket, Ramones, and DRKSHDW Abstract, visvim FBT, Jil Sander derbies, Diemme Roccia, Dr. Martens 1460 in Made in England or collaboration versions, Our Legacy Camion. Seasonal experiments and diffusion lines mostly don't.
- Size. Common sizes (US 9 to 11 in men's, 7 to 9 in women's) sell fastest. Very small or very large sizes sell slower and price lower, with a few collector exceptions.
- Condition. Covered below. This is where most of the money is lost.
- Box and extras. Original box, dust bags, spare laces, and receipts add to the offer. Missing box on a luxury pair is a real deduction; on a sneaker it's a smaller one.
The condition checklist buyers actually use
- Soles. Tread depth, heel drag, any separation at the welt or midsole. A resoled pair by a good cobbler is fine and should be disclosed.
- Uppers. Creasing (light is expected, deep is a deduction), scuffs, salt lines, color transfer, cracked leather.
- Interior. Insole wear, heel-liner damage, odor. Odor is a pass at most buyers.
- Hardware. Zippers, buckles, eyelets, laces. Replacement laces are fine; broken zippers are not.
- Midsole yellowing on sneakers. It's cosmetic but it's the first thing a buyer sees.
Photograph all five before you ask for an offer. A buyer who sees the wear up front prices it once. A buyer who finds it later prices it twice.

Frequently asked questions
Where can I sell used shoes for cash?
Outright buyers pay cash on the spot or on receipt; marketplaces pay after a sale; consignment pays after a sale minus a cut. For designer and collaboration pairs, a specialist buyer will usually beat a general resale shop because they know what the pair is.
Do resale shops buy worn shoes?
Yes, if the wear is light and the pair still resells above retail. Heavy creasing, sole separation, or odor gets a pass almost everywhere.
How much are used designer shoes worth?
Check sold listings for the exact model, colorway, and size. Signature silhouettes in clean condition often sell for half to most of retail; general releases and heavily worn pairs often sell for less than a quarter. The offer you get from a buyer will be a percentage of that sold price.
Can I sell designer shoes without the box?
Yes. Expect a deduction on luxury pairs and a smaller one on sneakers. Authenticity matters more than packaging.
Do you buy in Portland?
Yes, by appointment with local dropoff. Outside Portland, we send a prepaid shipping label. Start with photos on the sell page.
